so how did they determine how old the universe is , the people who determined the age didnt made up those numbers they did their own research they classified the age by two ways
1. the age limit of the contents in the universe yeah man think of it like the age of the universe is not greater the things inside it so they used the oldest stars as the measurement tools of the universe
as many people know that the lifecycle (age) of a star is determine by the mass of it , the scientists
used stars of population 3 they are as old as universe so they calculated it
and yeah there is also another way to determine the age of the universe and that is
2. the expansion of the universe also helped them they caluclated the rate of expansion and pulled the answer
How old is our milkiway
As for the digging I've done I found that its considered no one has the perfect asnwer , but still we got some
Most of the astronomers consider the age of milkiway is around 10-13.6 billion years as as we cannot say the exact time of formation
And the oldest star in the milkiway is 13.4 billion years old but still it might have joined the milkiway after the formation so we cannot determine the age , and physicists to the rescue they cinsiderd the amount of beryllium present in the milkiway .
The age of our solar system
Well we can say that easily cause we have many ways of determining it 'can do it with the sun and dating the oldest metorites and asteroids (as they are the basis of formation of our solar system )
We date ( no pun intended) the meteorites and we determine the age and we found out that the age of our solar system is 4.568 billion years
The age of our earth ( home blue home )
Determining the age of earth is easiest of them all cause we are living in it
How did we do that the traditional way of carbon dating dosent work cause it can't predate that old guy earth as he is older than the half-life of the elements we use so we used radiometric age-dating on meteorites and oldest rock on earth is not a rock ( they are crystals ) zicron crystals found in western Australia

4.54 billion years old give or take 5 million years
